The Whitecaps will be hoping to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to FC Dallas on Saturday, a game in which the Caps had their hands down worst performance of the season. On Wednesday, April 24th, Vancouver will take on NASL side FC Edmonton in the first leg of the 2013 Amway Canadian Championship (ACC).
Last season, these two sides met in the very same round of the competition with the Whitecaps winning by an aggregate score of 5-1. In the first leg in Edmonton, the Caps won 2-0 and in the second leg at BC Place they came victors with a scoreline of 3-1 to advance to the ACC finals against TFC.

The Ideal Starting Lineup
A huge problem from the Whitecaps’ last match against FC Dallas was the starting eleven that was fielded by Martin Rennie. Expect to see a few new faces, possibly including Johnny Leverón, Brad Knighton and Jordan Harvey. It was recently announced that Omar Salgado had been called up to the U20 US men’s national team which will conflict with Wednesday’s match. In result he will not be on the first leg’s game day roster against FC Edmonton. Since it will be next to impossible to give you a projected starting lineup, I will give you my ideal one:
Whitecaps 2 – FC Edmonton 0
Where: Edmonton, Alberta.
When: April 24th at 6:45pm PST.
How: Sportsnet Pacific.
