Prediction Post: Whitecaps vs Earthquakes

Posted on April 4, 2013 by

The Whitecaps will be making the short trip from Carson to San Jose to take on Chris Wondolowski and the San Jose Earthquakes.

These two sides have met many times since the Caps joined the MLS back in 2011, 5 times to be exact. In those 5 matches, the Whitecaps have developed a fantastic record of 2-1-2. The most recent match against the Quakes was back in July of last season. Both Caps’ goals came from players who have recently departed in Dane Richards and also a rare tally from Barry Robson, this time from the penalty spot.

Here are the highlights from that match:

Whitecaps’ Keys To The Match

  • Counter attack and break out quickly after winning possession.
  • Mark tight in the box, especially on Wondolowski.
  • Finish consistently in front of goal.
